Circles!

The name of todays blog post is circles for a couple of reasons...one being the circles I have been running in today getting everything done! It started this morning when I went to my grandpa's house early to take care of him for a bit. I ended up cleaning most of the house...then I came home to do some laundry and did a bunch of errands with my mom :) The best part of those errands was the trip to the fabric store. I use the term "fabric store" loosely because it is more like a giant bottomless pit of fabric = heaven! I was there fore two hours today which was great because I got the fabric I needed for my dress and the rest of the fabric to make my circle wall art...which brings me to the second reason for the blog title. I blogged a while back about making fabric portraits and I finally got the fabric I liked to make them...I hope you guys like how it turned out...because I am in love! I might add a few more but I have to get some more hoops.

Today was a much better day than yesterday...I was so tired and I was trying to make a slip...which you would think would be easy but it got the best of me! Thankfully my aunt is an angel and surprised me with this cute little sewing bag which cheered me right up.

Southern Belle

This week has been amazing...first my best friend came home from vet school and we have been spending lots of time together. Second...I started doing pilates again which kicked my butt at first but I think I am starting to get back into pilates shape! And third....My most wonderful friends took me out wine tasting at the Wine Lab and I had an amazing time...my favorite wine turned out to be a cabernet sauvignon. After wine tasting we went over to Joe's Crab Shack to get some yummy hush puppies (my absolute favorite!) and spiked sweet tea lemonade :) little did I know I was going to be forced to dress up in a poncho and construction hat and do my best impression of a Mexican jumping bean! It was a lovely time though :)

Backyard Honey

This past Sunday my mom and I went to the Patchwork indie craft fair in Long beach which is one of my favorite craft fairs. It is just so cute and I always meet the most amazing people there. This patchwork fair my mom and I had a little theme going...HONEY! I got to stop by the Backyard Bees booth and I bought honey and an adorable t'shirt. My wonderful friend Juliet is part of Backyard Bees and actually rescues bees and even has her own bee hive!! Their honey is so delicious I can't wait to use it :) 

Sorry for the lack of decent pictures...it was so windy there that I was too scared to take pictures for fear of my dress blowing up and revealing my bloomers!! These will have to do...Although it is my favorite dress I was not the best apparel choice for the day.

All Quiet on the Blog Front!!!!

Sorry for my blogging silence this past week...it has been a very fun yet busy week and I have not had a lot of time or INTERNET to blog. It all started this past weekend..or maybe even a little before that with my cousin's wedding. I was a bridesmaid so I was quite busy :) It was such a beautiful and fun wedding on the Queen Mary and I am so happy that my cousin is now married to one of my best friends and a truly beautiful lady. Next was Mother's day which was right after the wedding so I was exhausted! But my mom and I went to the antique swap meet at the Rosebowl and found some amazing little treasures. I was on the hunt for a turquoise or light blue 1960's train case (which usually means I will never find it) but I did this time! and it is beautiful :) Later that day we had a wonderful early dinner and spent the rest of the day recovering from the wedding. After all that I thought I would sit down and blog...but I decided to join  my aunt at her condo in San Clemente...which has nooo internet! Well I hope you all had a wonderful week and I am now back on track with regular blogs!

For My Mother

Happy Mother's Day mom, you are truly the most amazing woman I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. You are strong, beautiful inside and out, you always have some fun new project for me to do and all through my life you have helped and shaped me into the woman I am today. I wish that I could be even half the woman that you are. You constantly give to others and never ask for anything in return. You are truly magnificent and anyone who has ever met you would agree. I love you more than I could ever convey.

Birthday Fish

I had such an amazing 23rd birthday. First my cousin Kevin is home from the Coast Guard in Alaska for his wedding this Saturday so that already made my birthday extra special. Even better I ate at my favorite thai restaurant called Thai on Main with my family and my amazing soon to be chef cousin made me a snow white cake which was sooo scrumptious :) I am truly blessed to have wonderful friends and family. They made my birthday special.


Ps. I will have to post a story about why the title of this post is so important and explain how I got the nickname "bluefish" hence the title birthday fish :)

Today was an amazing day...although extremely hot it was a wonderful day spent with my cousin and her two daughters and my future cousin in law. It was so hot we all went out onto the porch and started fanning ourselves like three southern belles from Atlanta in the summer! It was so nice to spend the day with one of my best friends while putting the finishing touches on her wedding plans for this Saturday. Such a lovely day....plus I got to take my new favorite purse out on the town....an early birthday present from a dear friend. My birthday is this Wednesday! I can't wait....the big 23. Who am I kidding...23 isn't such a spectacular age but I always enjoy every birthday because it is another year I get to live life! :)
